I really liked the connection of a poem to a prayer. In a way many Prayers are kind of like poems. I think that this is a poem that many people could relate to. I liked the soft tone that you have that adds to the overall message of the poem. I liked the analogy of a lock and a key. Great Job!
I loved this poem! I think it was powerful and incorporated so many different aspects of life in a prayer like poem. I also agree with Jessica, I think the lock and key analogy is very strong. Constructively, I think that this poem is great the way it is but it was amazing as a rap/ song.
The reading of this poem in class was by far my favorite reading this semester. The poem is evocative and almost petitions God to do better. I really enjoyed the key metaphor and thought it was interesting to think about different keys that fit in our locks. I would love to see a video of this poem rapped uploaded on the blog.
Even though we discussed this poem at length in class, I had to formally comment on this poem and your unique performance in class. Like others said above, maybe you can upload another version of you rapping? To make it more interesting, can you keep both versions online, or maybe somehow join the two to show the contrast between the two versions? Great job!
